Timelapse of Sustainable Coastlines Hawaii i heART Ocean Fundraiser at the Waikiki Aquarium
I shot this timescape last Friday for Sustainable Coastline’s i heART Ocean Annual Fundraiser at the Waikiki Aquarium. Timescape, timelapse, whatever you want to call it – this one brings you time about 70 times faster than it actually happened. It’s great spot for party – on the water’s edge just out of Waikiki– I got there in time to capture a sunset sequence as guests started to show up. I noticed the cloud lines marching in from the South and setup my first sequence to capture them and the sunset. I need to figure out how to gradually ramp exposure for these sunset sequences. For the rest of the event, I experimented with a few different angles to capture the action. The marine debris fashion show was a highlight for sure – dragging the shutter showed the ladies moving quickly but gracefully. My girlfriend Nicole was rocking an awesome marine debris bellydance outfit carefully crafted by designer Rebecca Anderson. I hope the fundraiser helps www.sustainablecoastlineshawaii.org keep doing their thing with ocean conservation and promoting an ethic of stewardship that more of Hawaii needs to embrace.
